EARTHACK is a hackathon designed to inspire you to use technology to solve real issues plaguing the world today. We want to provide a space to help inspire creative thinking, so you can create inspirational ideas that can be implemented on a global scale. We encourage you to come and join us to make new things!
HackDFW and Earth Day Texas look forward to hosting you at EARTHACK, taking place at the largest Earth Day festival in the United States. Join us from April 21st to 23rd to show off your skills, meet amazing people, and help make a difference for the future.
EARTHACK takes place from April 21-23 and is a 36-hour event. Plan to be here Friday night. Stay tuned on our social media pages!
Laptops, chargers, cell phones, and of course passion are helpful. Other useful items include: toiletries, a change of clothes, a pillow, some earplugs, an eye mask, a jacket, and...deodorant.
Knives, firearms, and other dangerous things are not permitted at the event.
All creators are welcome! This includes high schoolers, undergraduate students, graduate students, and professionals!
Teams are composed of 2-5 people. You can do it alone, but it'll be less fun!
We'll have a scheduled time where people can form teams after the opening ceremony. Before then, join us at the HackDFW Attendees Page!
EARTHACK is 100% free. We want you to feel welcomed and provide everything you need for an amazing weekend!
We will be providing reimbursements to a select percentage of out-of-state students only.
A hackathon is an experience to build something new within a set amount of time. Therefore, you cannot work on past projects. However, using your own open-source or third party libraries is fine, so long as the project is new.
We will have a variety of hardware available for use. A full hardware list is coming soon!
EARTHACK will be held at Fair Park in Dallas, TX from April 21-23, during Earth Day Texas.
Yes! Buses will be provided to cities/universities outside of the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex if there are a large amount of people coming from the area. Bus routes will be announced through email or social media.
We'd love to hear from you! We are a friendly bunch and open to discussing new ideas, improvements or email@example.com
